UCR's Philippines Effort
On behalf of the entire UC Riverside community, I write to express our sympathy, deep concern and support for all those affected by the typhoon and resultant humanitarian crisis in the Philippines.
We have many long-standing connections to the nation and the region, with many students, faculty, staff and friends of Filipino descent or nationality. Our campus currently hosts 1,041 students who identify themselves as Filipino.
I urge anyone who has been directly affected to reach out to campus friends and support groups, including the Counseling Center and other sources of personal aid.
Since the crisis, many caring Highlanders have been organizing relief efforts along many channels, and we look forward to helping contribute as we can to produce a strong recovery for the people of the Philippines.
Below are some activities and initiatives that you can take part in; thanks for sharing in the effort. For updates, please visit: http://ucrtoday.ucr.edu/19107 or the campus Facebook page https://www.facebook.com/UCRiverside
